As a professional organizers, we are often asked what products (and where to purchase) we would suggest for certain areas of the home. Based on the frequency of these questions, we thought it might be useful to begin a series to put all answers in one place. And so, here we are with the first of the series, 'os top picks' with the most inquired space, the pantry. One thing to remember is that not all spaces are created equally, but with the right use of materials, organizers, and space planning, all spaces can be equally amazing, no matter how small or large!
We always suggest using a combination of materials, especially in a pantry, to give a sense of personality and depth. There really is no one size fits all, as spaces are different dimensions, and the products people keep in their homes vary. We also ask our clients to envision the end product and what it will take on their part to maintain it. If you decide to decant into containers, will you keep up with the maintenance of refilling and storing of the the overstock? Or does the thought of doing that amount of work overtime you run out of a product make you cringe? Would you prefer to have retail packaging visible, or grouped by category out of sight? Or a combination of all of the above? Based on the answers to these questions is what we suggest as solutions to our clients.
So here is our breakdown for each, with a bonus shopping list.
